Tumaini Letu Nshamba, established in 1992 and registered in 1996 (re-registered in 2016, Reg. No. 0008843), is a Tanzanian NGO based in Muleba District, Kagera Region. Founded in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, we support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and empower women through community-driven initiatives. Our work began with a 1989 baseline survey highlighting the needs of orphans and widows.
We operate 20 ECD centers, serving 5,105 children (75% OVC), and run programs like HANURA, a savings and credit scheme for 300 women caregivers.
We prioritize community engagement, collaborating with local government, NGOs (e.g., KAPAMU), and stakeholders. Our model involves:
A healthier society where women and children realize their full potential.
Empowering communities to fight vulnerability through inclusive, sustainable solutions.
Strengthening community capacity to meet the needs of vulnerable groups.
Providing education, nutrition, and health services to 5,105 children in 20 ECD centers.
Offering health insurance, vaccinations, and food security programs.
Supporting women through HANURA savings and credit schemes.
